From the perspective of the basic navigation system, Roborock and Ecovacs navigation are very similar. Both use lidar sensors for navigation. In addition, there are other sensors and cameras on the front that can recognize objects to avoid obstacles. Both robots use an auxiliary laser system in the front to detect items on the floor, located below the line of sight of the main lidar. Ecovacs refers to this as TrueDetect 3D 2.0, which Roborock calls Reactive AI.
