Narwal Freo 20 Is Almost Here: Freo vs. Flow and Their Replacement Parts

As of August 13, the new Narwal Freo 20 is only seven days away from its official U.S. retail launch. Narwal has confirmed that the model will go on sale on August 20, 2026, with an MSRP of $1,099.99 and a launch price of $899.99 from August 20 through September 3. At first glance, the Freo 20 introduces several major upgrades to the Freo family:

• 31,000 Pa suction

• FlowWash real-time self-cleaning track mop

• DualFlow tangle-free system

• Dual RGB cameras with AI obstacle avoidance

• 300+ household object recognition

• 12 N mopping pressure

But these specifications also look familiar. Many of the Freo 20's headline technologies are already present on the Narwal Flow 2, including 31,000 Pa suction, FlowWash, DualFlow and a dual-camera AI system.

More importantly, Narwal describes the Freo 20 as the first Freo Series model equipped with its FlowWash Mopping System. In other words, a technology closely associated with the Flow family is now entering the Freo line for the first time. Read Narwal's official Freo 20 announcement.

Freo and Flow: Two Narwal Product Lines

The Freo Series

Freo is Narwal's broader robot vacuum family. Narwal itself describes Freo as a foundational product line covering different price points and cleaning needs. Features such as Freo intelligent cleaning, DirtSense, automatic base-station maintenance, edge cleaning and anti-tangle systems have gradually expanded across generations.

For much of the series, major Freo models have relied on dual spinning mop pads, including the original Freo and later high-end models such as Freo X Ultra, Freo Z Ultra and Freo Z10 Ultra. The Freo Z10 Ultra, for example, uses Reuleaux triangle mop pads with 6–8 N downward pressure.

Availability varies by market. Narwal's regional lineups are not identical; models such as the Freo Z10 Pro, for example, have appeared in European markets while other variants receive more emphasis in North America.

The Flow Series

The Flow family is much smaller. So far, it has produced two main generations:

Narwal Flow / Narwal Flow 2

Both are positioned by Narwal as flagship products.

The defining feature is FlowWash, which replaces conventional spinning mop pads with a continuously circulating track mop. Clean water refreshes the moving mop while dirty water is removed during cleaning, rather than waiting for the robot to return to the station.

The original Flow introduced this platform with 22,000 Pa suction, a FlowWash rolling track mop, DualFlow and dual RGB camera obstacle avoidance. To see this change more clearly, it is useful to compare four representative models: Freo Z10 Ultra and Freo 20 from the Freo family, and Flow and Flow 2 from the Flow family.

Official specifications show a clear progression. The Freo Z10 Ultra already had advanced AI vision, DualFlow and a highly automated station, but its floor-washing system remained based on two spinning mop pads. Freo 20 changes that part of the platform completely by adopting FlowWash. Meanwhile, Flow 2 continues the architecture introduced by the original Flow while increasing suction and AI capability.

Replacement Parts Across the Four Narwal Models from techTongBo

For the aftermarket, a new model is also a new compatibility question.

The Freo 20 column should remain separate for now. The machine has not yet reached normal retail availability, so no compatibility relationship should be treated as confirmed before physical inspection and installation testing.

There are also less frequently replaced but important parts such as dust bins, brush covers, sink slot filters and insert bins.

Which Parts Are Already Shared Across These Narwal Models?

Narwal's own accessory listings show that product generations and even different product families do not always use completely separate consumable systems.

One clear example is the track mop. Narwal officially sells a Track Mop for Flow/Flow 2, confirming that the original Flow and Flow 2 share this consumable.

This is especially relevant now that the Freo 20 has entered the same FlowWash architecture.

In fact, these accessories are basically the same except for the dust bag.

There is also confirmed cross-series sharing between Flow and Freo Z10 Ultra.

Narwal's official accessory catalog cross-lists several parts across these platforms, including the dust bin filter and replaceable insert bin. Regional accessory listings can vary, but the important point is that Narwal has already reused certain replaceable structures across the Flow and Freo families.

Whether the Freo 20 will extend any of these existing compatibility groups remains to be confirmed after the machine reaches the market.
